Checking

"Checking" or cracks, are a natural characteristic of all rustic furniture and occur naturally during the drying process of wood and logs.  Checking generally begins near the center of the log and will vary in width and length depending on the log size. Checking is part of the character and beauty of log furniture.  Typically, the larger the diameter of the log or timber, the larger the cracks. Checking does not affect the structural integrity of the furniture.  All our rustic furniture products are covered by a lifetime warranty on material & workmanship.  Checking is not considered a defect and is not subject to this warranty.

Screw & Bolt Connections

Natural changes to logs from humidity or further drying of the wood may cause previously tight joints and fasteners to become loose. Tighten fasteners on a as needed basis.  Do not put log furniture directly near heat sources such as radiators or fireplaces.
